Research theme/topic 

Fashion is constantly growing changing and evolving. 

It never stops there is always new trends and new styles to be seen.

Fashion is an expression it lets people express who they are and what inspires them. 

Fashion can help people be who they want to be their style of clothing can describe who they are without the use of words.

What we would like to do with our theme of fashion is to hopefully make a website with either pictures or videos of people on the streets of Dublin and ask them about their own personal style and what influences it.

Vogue does interviews with celebrities called 73 Questions with Vogue, they are really interesting to watch because the interview isn’t just done in front of a plain white background, the interviewee is always moving while answering the questions. For the project we would like to take some inspiration from these videos. What we don’t want is boring, we want to show the personality of the person we are interviewing.

Magazines are a huge outlet for fashion itself, they are always showing new trends and also giving insight on what’s making a clothing comeback. Magazines like  ELLE and Cosmopolitan are huge well known publications that are constantly writing intriguing articles that instead of just talking about clothing they are talking about the meaning which is something that inspires us as a group.

As a group one of the questions we will most likely be asking the interviewee is “what decade do you think inspires your style the most”. We want to ask this question because without knowing personal style is usually fabricated together from different aspects of style from years gone by. We want the interviewee to reflect on their style and think about their influences.

We asked a few people the simple question what inspires your style and usually the first thing they would say would be a celebrities name. With this knowledge we made a list of fashion icons from past decade’s to see just how much they influenced style.

As a group we also think it would be interesting to look at the history and signigance behind certain items of clothing. Clothing has always been a way to speak and be loud, certain items of clothing can convey a piece of cultural history that not many people are familiar with today so this would be something that would be interesting to find more about and to also ask our interviewees if they even know the cultural signigance of the piece of clothing they are wearing e.g. if they are wearing Doc Martens.
