Project book design research
For our
project book I started to do some research into magazine covers. As our project
is based around fashion and personal style we wanted a cover that reflects the
style of our project. I decided to search for minimalist covers as our website
and style of interviews are quite clean and with splashes of colour. The design
of these tree covers where used as
inspiration for our project book. We liked the use of the “Millennial
Pink” which is always a huge trend that is seen everywhere from runways to
streetwear. We liked the use of sharp line work that gives definition to the
cover and helps give the cover more dimension and interesting to look at it
ties everything on the cover together.
We went
back on our fonts and looked at the ones we used in the website, we wanted to
tie everything together and not have too many unnessecary fonts that where of
no need. With most covers the font is subdued but makes a statement, with the
type there is a 3d element to it or it can be put on the line work to make it
lurch forward and tie into the design as a whole.
